Sparty Gras Fall Fest

Join us at Sparty Gras Fall Fest — a high-energy, carnival-themed celebration where new and returning Spartans come together for a night of festive fun! Enjoy thrilling carnival games, delicious free (while supplies last) snacks from Lansing-based food trucks, make your own Candy Land candy salad, and enjoy the vibrant entertainment. It's the perfect opportunity to connect with fellow Spartans and make unforgettable memories under the neon lights. Bring your campus crew and be open to making new friends as we kick off the fall semester at MSU’s Sparty Gras!

Healthy Spartans Hangout

46th Annual UFest

Sparticipation

IM East Field

Sparticipation is an annual involvement fair to promote opportunities with student organizations, departments, and the broader community to kick start our Spartan’s journey. This free event has quickly become a highlight of the start of the academic year with over 500 student organizations, 30 MSU departments and sponsors. We hope you join us!

Spartan Remix

Multicultural Center 

Spartan Remix is an annual multicultural welcome festival. This unique event is a celebration of art, music, and culture where diverse communities come together in celebration, education and pride of their communities. The event is coordinated by the Office of Multicultural Enrichment & Advocacy (OMEA).

College Colloquiums

New students are required to participate in their college's colloquium. This is an opportunity to meet other new students in your college, connect with your dean, faculty, academic advisors, and upper-class students, and learn about the resources and expectations that will help you succeed at Michigan State.

College colloquia will take place on Friday, August 28, 2026, from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.

Wharton Welcomes is a unique collaboration of MSU Arts programs. This event contributes to student success by creating a community for students to engage with various MSU RSO’s. In collaboration with Wharton Center, the event presents live music, prizes, and ice cream to cultivate positive wellbeing for students as they enter a new semester. Wharton Welcomes ensures all those who are involved feel connected to MSU’s campus and community by prioritizing safety and respect in all scenarios. This event is culturally significant for Michigan State and creates an environment for students to find community and create goals, both socially and personally. Wharton Welcomes is a fantastic way for students to find a sense of belonging and encourages future involvement in the arts. Jason Schmidt, a Broadway star known for originating the role of Sodapop Curtis in The Outsiders The Musical, has been confirmed. He is currently tour touring with his new single, "Butterfly".

Hidden Curriculum: What No One Tells You About College
