James Hintz, Ph.D. | Vice President for Student Affairs

James Hintz is the vice president for the Division of Student Affairs at MSU. Hintz previously served as the acting associate vice chancellor for Auxiliary, Health and Wellbeing at the University of Illinois. Prior to appointments at the University of Illinois, Hintz worked in leadership roles at Purdue University, University of Connecticut-Storrs and Ohio University. His career has spanned positions related to off-campus living, community services, commuter student experiences, strategic planning around fraternity and sorority community processes, campus recreation, student wellness programs and student leadership development programs.

 

Genyne Royal, Ph.D. | Assistant Vice President for Inclusive Access and Belonging

Dr. Genyne Royal is the Assistant Vice President for Inclusive Access and Belonging. She is a graduate of Texas A&M University, where she earned her Ph.D. in higher education administration, a master’s degree from North Carolina A&T State University in counseling, and a bachelor’s degree in vocal music from Shaw University, in Raleigh, North Carolina. She is a native of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

 

Allyn Shaw, Ph.D. | Assistant Vice President for Student Development and Leadership & Dean of Students

Allyn Shaw, Ph.D., is the Assistant Vice President for Student Development and Leadership and Dean of Students at Michigan State University. After serving nine years, as the Associate Director, Office of Faculty and Organizational Development and Director of Leadership Development Programs, Shaw transitioned to his Student Affairs position in 2014. He has also worked at the University of Richmond and the University of Tennessee.
