VCU members

The Vietnamese Culture Union at Michigan State University is a student group dedicated to creating an immersive and inclusive environment for celebration, exploration and expression of Vietnamese culture for MSU students, scholars, faculties and community members. While VCU began with just three students in 2020, the RSO has made progress and celebrated its first anniversary in January. VCU’s vision is to build a foundation and become a trusted organization for anyone with interest in Vietnamese language, culture and heritage.

How to Connect:

Any student interested in learning or teaching Vietnamese culture/language is invited to be a part of the organization. Applications are currently open through April 10 to become a committee member.

VCU holds various events that include fun activities and prizes. Just recently, the RSO held “MARCH-LODY” via zoom where those attending listened to Vietnamese music and then could participate in compelling discussions. Another event held by VCU was Vietnamese Ultimate Interaction (VUI), where students had a chance to ask questions and talk to a Vietnamese native speaker. The list of events includes much more. This organization is focused on creating an engaging experience for each of the members.

COVID-19 Changes:

Since VCU started just last year, the group has been adapting to COVID-19 challenges for almost the entire life of the organization. VCI hosts numerous ZOOM events and is staying active on social media.
