How can Students Connect:

Why Join?

When a Spartan joins the MSU Birding Club they belong to a community of students interested in birds and wildlife. Whether birds are your hobby or profession, the MSU Birding Club is the place for you. Even those who are curious about birds, but don’t know where to start, will find a wealth of knowledge and enthusiasm in the Birding Club. Networking opportunities with graduate students and professors will be available. The MSU Birding club makes numerous field trips to look for birds throughout the semester (when it is safe to be in-person).

Programs/Events

The MSU Birding Club hosts bi-weekly meetings throughout the school year. These feature trivia, guest presentations and bird identification workshops. Regular field trips, both in the local area and throughout Michigan’s lower peninsula, are planned on an ongoing basis. A calendar fundraiser is held in the fall, created using photos submitted by club members. Currently, new club t-shirts are for sale. Birding Club is meeting virtually in January and will return to in-person meetings when MSU resumes in-person classes.
