RSO Spotlight: American Medical Student Association (AMSA)

RSO:

The American Medical Student Association (AMSA) at Michigan State University is a movement of future health professionals who believe patients, physicians, nurses, physician assistants, medical assistants and other health professionals are a team that must work together for healthcare management. AMSA Is passionate about activism and understanding that healthcare is not a privilege, but a right. At AMSA, student idealism is transformed into meaningful public service, innovation, and institutional change.

Program/Events:

AMSA keeps its members engaged through monthly meetings, as well as endless volunteer and fundraising opportunities. Some past programs/events include a blood drive with the Red Cross, an Advocacy event with the Special Olympics and their Medical Student Mentorship Program, which is an ongoing program through AMSA that allows students to be paired with a medical student to talk with one-on-one throughout the academic year. With AMSA, there is always a way to get involved and make a difference.
