The MSU team will kick off the weekend with an exhibition match against Army at 8:30 p.m. on Friday at the IM West Arena. The exhibition match will welcome the perennial event participants from the U.S. Military Academy at West Point (Army) “Back to the Hardwood” and will be played in honor of Veteran’s Day.

Regular tournament play for all teams will begin at 8 a.m. on both November 11 and 12 and run throughout the afternoon and evening at IM Sports West.

“This event showcases the impact that men's volleyball has in the state of Michigan,” explained Riley Anson, a senior marketing major from Plainwell, Michigan, and president of MSU Men’s Volleyball Club.

Anson said he was excited to announce that as of 8 p.m. Wednesday night, 58 teams and more than 800 athletes from the Midwest and East Coast will be in attendance this year.

Due to a strong and renewed interest in adding boys’ volleyball as a sanctioned high school sport in Michigan, the MSU club also has invited members of the Michigan High School Athletic Association and Lakeshore Region Volleyball Association (a region of USA Volleyball) to this year’s event, according to organizers. Most states surrounding Michigan sanction high school volleyball for both high school boys and girls.
